The Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon (TriMet) later this month will begin renovating the East 162nd Avenue light-rail station at the Portland-Gresham border.
Slated to begin May 20, the project includes the installation of larger windscreens, updated lighting and security cameras, new shelter roofs, and new signs and digital TransitTracker displays.
The six-month project also calls for deep cleaning, painting and surface repairs. The station will remain open throughout the rehab work, TriMet officials said in a press release.
The project is part of TriMet's plan to renovate of some of the oldest MAX light-rail stations on the Blue Line. The agency recently finished renovating the 122nd Avenue MAX station and the Gresham City Hall MAX stop.
The 122nd Avenue Station project began late last year.
