BNSF publishes 2015 sustainability report

BNSF Railway Co. yesterday unveiled its annual Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Report for 2015, which highlights the company's attention to improving safety and reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions.

The report was prepared in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative G4 Sustainability Reporting Guidelines, a globally recognized reporting framework for environmental, social and governance performance, according to a BNSF press release.

The report addresses material issues of importance to BNSF's business and stakeholders, company officials said.

"In this report we provide a look into how we partner with our customers, suppliers and communities to make our business safer, more efficient and sustainable," said BNSF Vice President for Environmental John Lovenburg.
