Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) has promoted Nicole Fontayne-Bardowell to executive vice president and chief administrative officer.

She succeeds former Chief Financial Officer David Leininger in the agency's top administrative role. Leininger retired earlier this year.

Fontayne-Bardowell will oversee human capital, information technology, marketing and communications and procurement.

As chief information officer, she helped deploy DART's first interactive kiosk at Dallas Love Field airport and other technologies aimed at improving rider experience, agency officials said in a press release.

In early 2016, Fontayne-Bardowell spoke to Progressive Railroading about using data to improve rail operations.

Before joining DART, Fontayne-Bardowell worked as engagement manager with the Everest Group. She also served as managing principal with Magellan Associates LLC.

In addition, she initiated the role of CIO of Broward County in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
